My Project

My students are artists that are creating artworks for their IB (International Baccalaureate) art portfolio. The expectations from the IB programme is college level artwork. Many of my students have just had their first art class, so we are playing catch up with other students that have had constant access to art curriculum. These Gelli plates are a great way to teach concepts of printmaking with easy, safe, and inexpensive materials that are more accessible to my equity focused school's resources. My students deserve to have portfolios that match their peers from all over the world. These plates are reusable, so they are also better for the environment than other options! They are so much fun to use, and I can't wait for my students to get a chance to learn printmaking with accessible and environmentally friendly materials.
