This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach creative movement at seven different elementary schools in Los Angeles. I teach up to 6 classes a day from Pre-school through 6th grade. I support all academic areas through movement skills and provide standard based lessons that are designed to make learning student centered and fun. My students get to have the opportunity to be creative and grow through dance education.

My goal is to provide a standards-based dance curriculum which allows our students to create, observe and appreciate dance.

Creative dance can offer students, confidence, self esteem, imagination, abstract thinking and so much more. All these things that dance can offer supports all academic areas. Visuals, props, literacy and music is a huge inspiration for movement, but with music, keeping up with technology is always a challenge.

My Project

I need these speakers to use in the auditorium when I have a large class. I need the students to hear the beat and rhythm from anywhere in the room. They need to move around and it gets noisy in there so the bigger speakers will make all the difference. We can also use the wireless speakers outside when we practice as a grade level. No more cords getting in the way! We have over 100 students at one time outside so these speakers will carry the sound to even the farthest student!
