My Students

My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 3rd-grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.

Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.

As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.

My Project

My students are avid readers. Because of this, I have tried hard to find novels and picture books that will capture their interest and get them even more in love with reading. This story, James and the Giant Peach, is just such a novel.

Reading a novel as a class is a great way to build a community of readers.

This novel, James and the Giant Peach, is a wonderful fantasy novel that will pull the students in and allow them to enjoy an engaging text while learning all of the standards needed for their grade level.

This will be such a fantastic novel for the kids to learn from. Reading this book will be a treat for them all.
