My Project

The Jaguar Laundry Center was an idea that was adopted from the Whirlpool Care Counts Laundry Program. This project will provide students and families who don't have access to clean clothes the opportunity to wash their belongings. Research has shown that 1 in 5 students don't have access to clean clothes making them more likely to miss school. Over the years we have seen students being joked or bullied due to them not have clean clothing. This project will help the chronic absenteeism rate and reduce bullying in the school. As the school social worker, I feel that these items will be a great addition to our school and help eliminate barriers to students attendance.

The plan is for each member of the Student Support Team to supervise the Jaguar laundry room while students or families are using the appliances.

This will ensure safety and proper use of the equipment.
