My Students
My students are full of potential, eager to learn, and they are curious to know about everything around them. My school is located in a very diverse neighborhood, which leads to many languages and cultures present in my classroom. Also, some of my children are under their grandparents' custody while others are children of single parents.
I am so thankful to have a chance to have them in my class, and I hope I can inspire them and help them to develop their confidence skills.
I hope I can turn their negative self-concept into one that is positive.
My Project
The Kaplan Giant Water Pump will give my Pre-K students a hands-on opportunity to explore water.
The Pre-K students will have a blast learning STEM concepts and applying math to solve problems while exploring water using this enjoyable and educational tool.
This water pump will promote student’s curiosity. Incorporating this STEM tool into my classroom instruction will help students develop problem-solving, language, creativity, and imagination. For example, while children having fun exploring water texture and temperatures, they will be collaborating with peers to find out how to make the pump works; what will happen if they place something in the water? What makes water changes its direction? Students will also develop math skills such as using measuring and Non-measuring tools to measure and compare water volumes.
Furthermore, the Kaplan Giant Water Pump will help my Pre-K students develop their fine-motor skills while having fun pulling and purring water into pockets and or tubes. Students will have an excellent opportunity to develop their language skills and increase vocabulary such as water flow, deep, shallow, full, and empty.
Finally, your donation to this project will help my Pre-K students to have a great tool that promotes students’ curiosity and develops math, sciences social, and language skills, all while children have fun experience this enjoyable tool.
