My students need an iPad with case to help us do research and create research projects in the classroom. The Apple TV will help display our group projects to the class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fourth graders are extremely creative and curious. They love to do research on group projects and present information to the rest of the the class. Many are very tech savvy while others are in the early learning stages. We have a lot of fun learning from each other.
I am extremely proud to be able to teach in a Spanish/English dual immersion program where we celebrate bilingualism and bi-literacy.
I have the honor of teaching the Spanish component for fourth grade. A high percentage of our students come from very low income households where technology is not available to create media projects or even do research on class projects. All of my students eagerly await our weekly computer lab time.
My Project
In our class we create media projects to demonstrate our learning. I believe that public speaking is a very important part of our learning. Through the use of media projects students are more confident and less fearful of presenting in front of the class. With an iPad, case and Apple TV in class, students will learn to create imovies or trailers for research projects and present them to the entire class.
While some students fear speaking in front of the class, with an iPad created project students all of a sudden can't wait to present.
The projects will demonstrate not only their high tech abilities, but also the journey of the learning that happened. Technology is here to stay and being an articulate speaker builds confidence and confidence opens up immense opportunities, especially if you're bilingual!
