This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am looking for ways to keep my students engaged and interested in science. Science should stir curiosity and stimulate questions. I believe students should be given opportunities at school they may not have at home.

My students have had limited experiences in science.

They get very excited about basic science activities. I need to provide hands-on activities to give all my students common experiences to draw from as they learn basic concepts in science. I loved using a stereo microscope as a student and want to give my students that same wonder-filled opportunity.

My Project

I would like to have the a stereo microscope available to my students every day so they can always get a good look at things around them. Science class should be a place where students can see and experience things that may not be available to them outside of school. A stereo microscope offer one of those unique opportunities. It will be available to my students everyday with items I provide and items they bring to class to enhance their view of the world.

. ." will provide a motivating science experience for 8th graders. The positive experience will open the doors to their curiosity. It is a luxury we cannot afford but it is an experience all students should have access too.
