Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an art teacher, I want to introduce my students to as many art mediums as I can. This project will introduce my students to the art of printmaking. Block printing is a hand printing technique where designs are carved onto a solid material like linoleum, inked, and then pressed onto fabric or paper to create a print. It's basically a form of relief printing where the raised areas of the carved block transfer ink to the surface being printed. Students will be able to draw their own designs, carve them, and then press them onto paper. This project is for soft linoleum rubber blocks, tracing paper, print making books and a printing baron.
