My Project
My students are super fun and have a never ending supply of energy! At times, they have a bit too much energy and their classroom teachers need a break, and help from me.
I am a behavior education teacher for the PASS program at North Shore Elementary.
My students have been diagnosed with different illnesses/disabilities that adversely affect their behavior. They will, at times, inappropriately express themselves with physical and/or verbal aggression, defiance, and at times elopement from the school. During these episodes, I bring them to my classroom, which is their safe space to cool down and regroup before going back to their regular class.
I know that having these bean bags for them to sit and cool down in my room will be a great help. I want them to be comfortable instead of sitting in the same chairs they sit on in their classrooms. I will also be using these during their social skills class so they can be comfortable while learning about appropriate behavior in different settings.
