"Teaching in the Internet age means we must teach tomorrow's skills today." - Jennifer Fleming
Within a rural area of Florida sits my tiny, Title I school.
My classroom is an environment where I encourage free and creative thinking without judgment. I want my students to take chances and risks so that they learn that they can benefit them greatly. Our school fosters the belief that every student can be successful if they put forth the effort. I also believe that my students should dream big, because they are completely capable of attaining those dreams. When you enter my classroom, you are greeted with bright colors, an invitation to learn, and to grow as a human being. From Kid President quotes to Dr. Seuss, we learn about being a humanitarian, scholar, and also how to have fun throughout life. Education is a passion and I try to pass that off to my students in every way possible.
My Project
Students will use the iPads in the classroom to increase their reading skills, math skills, and research abilities. Students will use the iPads in literacy and math workstations throughout the day to help them engage and interact with the learning. I want students to be familiar with technology and how it can be used for educational purposes. Research and science investigations can be done using the iPad. The learning possibilities for each student are infinite. When students understand how to properly use technology, it can be a device full of academic opportunities. The device can be used in virtually any subject area and will captivate the student in every way possible. The possibilities for reading, math, science, and social studies start in the app store and can extend onto researching topics on the Internet. From teaching through the subject areas to teaching students about internet safety, I truly believe that the that the benefits are endless for iPads in the classroom.
Donations for this project are being used to fuel the educational fire within my students.
I have students that love to learn and I want to foster that in every way possible. Please consider our project to help my students learn how to properly use technology for life skills! Thank you for your consideration!
