My students need an iPad to create math presentations, movies, and interact with all the wonderful apps available out there!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Today's students are digital natives. My students are engaged in activities that provide instant feedback and that involve color and that makes the subject alive.
Over 90 percent of the student body at my school participates in the federal free meal program.
Although our school has been improving in state standardized tests, it continues to be an underachieving institution. Our students, however, have high expectations for themselves and show enthusiasm in their learning.
My Project
We have been working on a couple of math podcasts, but with an iPad and apps such as iMovie or Educreations, my students will be able to create material that will be used as tutorials for students who need help. The iPad will also serve to set up a center where students will be assigned math practice using specific apps that may include games or simple instructional videos.
The technology that we currently use in the classroom is several years old.
My students will benefit from the use of the newer gadgets because it will allow them to produce interesting presentations while keeping them engaged in their work.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
