My Project
While I have made dedicated efforts to cultivate a warm, inviting, and engaging classroom, I have recognized that my students want to go outside and enjoy when the weather permits. They revel in the fresh air, sunny skies, and the expansive outdoors and I want to be able to accommodate their request while continuing to learn
Numerous studies have underscored the positive impact of outdoor learning on both mental health and academic performance.
To facilitate the extension of our learning environment beyond the traditional classroom, I am seeking specific materials that will empower myself and my students to seamlessly transition from our "classroom" to the great outdoors. The essential items include a portable projector screen, a power station, and a foldable table, all of which are vital resources for conducting classes in an outdoor setting. Furthermore, a utility wagon is essential for transporting all the necessary materials for our outdoor space, and a pop-up tent can offer shade on sunny days.
The incorporation of outdoor learning areas will not only empower my students to establish stronger ties with the educational material but also promote active participation in our lessons. Given the decreasing availability of outdoor time in high schools, this change in surroundings can positively impact students' mental and physical well-being.
