My Students

Coming from a variety of language and economic backgrounds, school is the place where our kiddos feel safe to explore their world! Our kindergarteners are so excited for school each day. They come ready to learn to read and the growth they make throughout the year is astounding. There is no greater joy as a teacher than watching a child who came in not knowing their letters, leaving being able to read confidently.

The goal in our room is to give students the skills they need to become life long learners!

My Project

Kindergarten is all about creating beginning readers. When students have phonemic awareness, the ability to identify sounds in language and play with them, they have a strong foundation for reading.

Interactive phonemic awareness activities will allow my kindergarteners to practice and play with the sounds of our language.

Students will work on sorting words with the same beginning or ending sounds. They will gets the hands-on opportunity to match pictures that rhyme together. Rhyming is a consistent struggle with the littles and any chance to build that skill is valued greatly!

My kinders' will be able to put all these learned skills together with the game Splash. Nothing engages these students more than the chance to play with their classmates. Help me get my students engaged and learning with these activities!
