This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you know what it is like to sit in a classroom feeling nervous about reading aloud? Did you ever feel embarrassed if you can't pronounce a word? My students need help with their fluency to feel confident and secure when reading.

My wonderful students are hard working 6th graders.

These enthusiastic, eager learners consist of special needs and English language learners coming from low-income, impoverished families with challenging backgrounds. They are kind, respectful young individuals who need frequent encouragement and stimulation in their learning. They try so hard to learn, participate, and to succeed despite their learning abilities. Our inner city school is 97% free lunch with very little resources.

My Project

Your generous donation of a leveled library and fluency timers will allow my students the opportunity to become better readers, pace their reading, as well as increase their vocabulary skills. You will give them the opportunity to gain a much needed skill, reading fluency/comprehension. A leveled library with short interesting books will allow my students the chance to gain the confidence they so deserve. Just imagine the joy they will feel knowing that these books are made just for them!

Your kind and charitable donation will unlock the doors to reading; allowing a new love for books, and permitting each child to work to their best potential.

You will allow them the opportunity to pass their standardized tests, move on to the next grade, and gain self-esteem while feeling like they CAN achieve their dreams. Your generous donation can help make their dreams a reality!
