This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Well...another year is coming to an end and for some reason, I am more emotional about the fact this year. I am sure it has to do with my class and I being together for two years and sharing certain events and experiences together. Maybe it is the weather, I do not know, but thinking about packing up has been on my mind as of late!
You, my kind and thoughtful donors, have been great to me, my kids, and my classroom over the years.
I really want to thank you for being there for me and for US; my classroom is so modern and fun because of your contributions and my creativity put together. My kids love coming to school and they have learned concepts in many ways because of the items you have donated. Thank you/Gracias!
Now it is time to pack it all up for Summer break. I am asking for several packing tubs, units, and bins. These items will help me keep items organized and protected while I am away and custodians are deep cleaning and repairing my classroom. Having wheels on all of the items will make it easier for them to move around and transport them out of the room while cleaning is happening. Having my items in hard "shells" will eliminate anything breaking or being lost which has happened in the past during breaks.
Just like last year, my kids are helping me pack up our classroom.
Last year, they helped me pack, throw away, recycle, and take stuff upstairs to our new (now current) classroom. For some reason, kids think cleaning up and organizing is "grown up" and love doing it. Why should I deprive them of learning how to take care and organize our materials?
