My kindergarten classroom is filled with 18 eager five and six year olds who come from very different walks of life. From homelessness, single parent homes and with more than 75% living at or below the poverty level, my kindergartners always come to school determined and ready to learn.
No matter the cards that my students are dealt, they show up in my classroom every day and give their all.
They want to lead excellent lives and become doctors, police officers, teachers, etc.
My Project
This year I am blessed with 18 wonderful students. This project will allow me to provide my students with fun, engaging and rigorous math games to assist in their knowledge of number sense. Having a strong foundation of number sense is critical in their education and ability to understand math. Without number sense, they will not be able to count, add, subtract and much more.
Playing games will always get the student's attention and is something that they love to do.
They are learning whether they realize it or not. Having games like "Counting Cones" and "Unlock It! Number Match" will allow the students to build that foundation and understanding that they need in order to succeed.
