My Students
My music classroom is a place where magic happens every day. Many of the standards I teach are realized in the form of musical theater. I write script, music, lyrics and orchestrations for two original shows a year. It is a fantastic tradition that always turn into more than the sum of its parts.
My students are performers.
My students are composers. My students are dancers. My students are musically literate. My students are higher level thinkers. My students will be music makers, music leaders, music appreciators and music advocates. This is how I propose to change the world.
My school and it's staff provide a happy, active, safe place to learn and grow. Together, we try to provide them with as many opportunities for success as we can.
My Project
We produce high level original musical theater work twice a year. The gymnasium in which we perform has very outdated and mostly non functional theatrical lighting. The LED spotlight system I requested would solve this problem, and is also very economically priced. The students would be amply lit so our audiences of very proud families and community members can see them better and share in their talent and success.
It has been my dream to create musical theater to help students use the skills we are developing together for a practical, community building, and exciting purpose!
There is no budget money to fund this dream. This lighting will help to bring that dream to life even more vividly. This is how it will make a difference.
