This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am moving from 5th grade to Kindergarten and need to ensure they get the best start to their educational life through appropriate supplies. I believe that dramatic play is an essential, social emotional tool, when teaching Kindergarteners that come from a low socioeconomic background.

Dramatic play is the building block to learning social skills, learning about life experiences, and a rich vocabulary.

It will build social skills as they learn to play with others in a group setting for the first time. It will teach them how to interact with those around them in a socially positive way through play.

Having a high English learners population, this playset will help them learn the rich vocabulary necessary for a life of success. They will learn through play, the vocabulary necessary for working with a variety of objects they will encounter in the real world. Most of all they will learn to communicate with each other and build relationships.
