My Project

First grade is a year of numerical exploration. In our class we spend hours a day practicing skills for number sense and operations. My students love to engage with their learning in tangible ways. Several times a week there is an opportunity to use hands-on manipulatives to strengthen their understanding of mathematical concepts.

Mathematics is the single most important factor leading to a career in science and engineering.

These new resources will provide my students with engaging materials that directly support the curriculum I teach everyday. I want to make sure that the activities my students are working on reinforce new concepts as well as strengthen existing skills.
