Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in North Long Beach, with the majority of the students from hard-working low socioeconomic families.
Even though our students don't have much, they come to school to do their best and getting a good education is a top priority for our families.
The other thing that makes Our school unique is the amount of collaboration the teachers do to bring every subject alive to every student .
Even though we have over 1000 students at our school, we have still managed to be able to maintain a small community atmosphere on our campus.
My Project
Many of my students do not have a large variety of informational text to read at home. I am asking for a class set of subscriptions to TIME for Kids. This magazine will give them plenty to read about real world topics that they are interested in while building their non-fiction literacy skills and helping them to become informed citizens.
This magazine subscription will help me keep my students challenged and up to date on the current events of the world around them.
Students will also be able to enjoy a digital version and additional interactive online activities. As a teacher, I will also have access to printable resources like quizzes and worksheets.
