Help me give my students a variety of materials to practice telling time such as time dominoes, write and wipe clocks, books about time and storage for these items.
My students thrive when they are exposed to new concepts through many subject areas. They love it when all subject areas in the day are tied together by a common theme such as time. They get so thrilled whenever we move onto the next subject in class and it is linked to the previous subject. They will be beyond thrilled if we can have our entire day focused on time in some way! Plus, they will surely dive into the activities with enthusiasm.
My Project
The goal of the project is to create a permanent place in my classroom that my students can practice and learn about time. The Mastering Time dominoes will give my students that chance to practice telling time with a partner. The Write Wipe student clocks will allow my students to quiz each other and share their knowledge. The Time Instant Learning center could be an independent activity or partner activity that my students can choose. They will be able to decide how they want to learn with these activities that I will keep stored safely in the small black ottoman that I am also requesting. In addition to storing the materials for this project, the ottoman will be used when students are reading books about time such as "It's About Time!" or "What Time is It, Mr. Crocodile?"
This project will allow my students to fully immerse themselves in the concept of telling time.
They will have choices in how they learn and practice which is one of my goals for this class this year.
