Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

These students are a fun, determined group who are eager to learn as well as interact with their friends. They come to school not only for academics, but friendship, normalcy and comfort.

These guys show so much growth throughout the year.

Their skills in reading and math go from just learning the alphabet and counting to ten to creating stories and writing number sentences.

To grow both physically and academically, these students need food. These students come from mostly low income families. Breakfast and lunch are a very important aspect to their day.

My Project

The students need nourishment to grow both academically and physically. The food that I am requesting will get them through the weekend when they may not get the same nourishment as they would have when in school.

Physical growth impacts academic growth.

Making sure my students have what they need, means looking beyond their academics to succeed.

EasyMac, cereal and PopTarts are food items that they can prepare on their own at home. These are foods that they like, so they will eat them, and individual portions so no food will get wasted.
