Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When it comes to student success, small obstacles can turn into big roadblocks. Feelings of shame, self-consciousness, or discomfort can completely derail a student’s mindset.

It’s hard for students to focus on learning when they are lacking a personal care item.

A small collection of some of the most common care items that students may unexpectedly need during the school day will help them take care and re-focus on their academic, social, and personal activities.

Together with our school’s Ask Not service club, we hope to produce three care stations in the library, the wellness center, and student services/counseling. Students who are socio-economically challenged will be able to access the supplies without fear of embarrassment or stigma. In fact, all students will have access to the stations, and members of Ask Not will ensure that they are always stocked and available.

Your generosity will remove the small, personal obstacles that might otherwise prevent a student from succeeding at school.
