I would love to get this set of four pillows in my classroom to go into our reading nook. We do silent reading every day for half an hour after recess. It helps students calm down and also practice reading skills we have learned about while reading books they want to read. These pillows will give us access to floor space that is otherwise unused, and will allow students to be comfortable while reading. These pillows will help create a cozy atmosphere, making students feel more at ease, especially in reading corners or quiet areas and it helps them get more excited to read. No one likes reading in uncomfortable spaces, but allowing them to sit in different positions allows them to focus more on their books. Also, allowing them to spread out also helps keep them focused on their reading, as sitting closely with one another can be distracting to some students.
I can also see them using the pillows when working in small groups on the floor space.
They can lean them against the wall and bookcase to create some stability and again it will make circling up in a small group very easy to do, as they work together in reading class to read together and answer questions. Students will sensory issues will also enjoy these pillows, as pillows can provide calming pressure, helping students regulate their emotions and focus.
