This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remember what it was like to get your school supply list on the first day of school? Your parents would go over the list and then head off to school supply heaven with you so you could pick out what was needed and required? Well unfortunately this is not the case in the neighborhood I work in.
Because I work in a high needs, low poverty area, money is scarce ad so are school supplies.
I currently teach middle school and really love where I work, especially the students. There is nothing I would not do for them however with budget cuts and lack of funds and resources, obtaining school supplies is getting more difficult every year. My students are special needs students who require more than the average child, and because many parents do not have the money necessary to provide for them, I try to help out as well.
My Project
My students will be able to start the year off right with the supplies they need and require. They won't have to feel inadequate or funny because they cannot afford the necessary tools to start school. Having binders, dividers, paper and pencils are just the basics and exactly what they need!
By donating supplies for my class, your generosity will relieve them of the burden of not being able to buy what they need themselves!
They will be prepared and in turn will be able to concentrate on what they need the most which is a great education! They won't feel pressure or stress, They will just be happy because of you!
