Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first year teacher working in a 4th grade ICT classroom. This class has both students with disabilities and general education students. Our school is a Title I school with little funding and we want all the opportunities to provide the best experience for our students. We want our students to strive for success and be able to achieve greatness! I am beyond excited to start my first year and I want to start it off with the best materials for my students.

My Project

We use the Velcro to hang student work outside and inside of the classroom, as well as their Thinking Maps, Anchor Charts, words for the Word Wall, and etc. This class is split into two classrooms, the paper is used for in-class visuals, projects, and experiments.

The Writing Process Folders allow for our students to enhance their writing by visually guiding them through each of the five steps.

In these folders, students are also given possible writing topics, overused words, and commonly misspelled words. The writing process does not only help students in ELA but across all topics. These folders allow for the students to be held accountable for their writing and to continue to become more independent writers.
