This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title l school. Most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
My students are a likable group of kids.
They love reading and love to learn each day. Most of my class are from non-English speaking homes with no support. They do not have access to a variety of literacy. School is the only place for them to get reading. They are very eager to read and learn each day as they come into the room.
My Project
There is nothing better than the real thing! Time For Kids magazines will give my students a real look at the world and a taste of nonfiction reading.
These magazines have brilliant photos and very informative information that will give my students a wonderful look into the world of science.
They will be able to read the articles and then research the information. Their writing will be enhanced by having the tools at their fingertips.
My students love science and the chance to be able to have a variety of topics available for them will hopefully excite them and make them want to read and write more.
More than half of students from low‑income households
