This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A lot of research has been done recently on the importance of student movement and brain breaks. The pandemic has made traditional school seating very ineffective for the kids. Flexible seating has been shown to increase learning, understanding, and social-emotional growth. As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to get my students out of the traditional rows and chairs. I need them to get up and get moving throughout the day. This project is designed to have flexible options for students seating.
Flexible seating offers students the opportunity to move while they learn.
The wobble seats offer flexibility with a safe place to get their wiggles out. The cushions offer a soft alternative to hard plastic chairs. It gives students the choice to sit where they are comfortable. Young children need to move, this project will allow students the freedom to wiggle for many years to come!
