It's Not That We Use Technology, We Live Technology
My students need Chromebook laptops to meet their individual learning needs and to provide them experiences with different technology their contemporaries are exposed to every day in school.

My Students
I think about all the things I was lucky to have when I was a student. Brand new bookbag and lunchbox, new textbooks, sharpened pencils, Commodore 64 to play the Oregon Trail, and paper to take my Math tests.
I look around my classrooms and thinking "How can I afford to give them more?" without going broke myself.
I work in a high-poverty, high ENL student populated school. I have students who come from all walks of life and teachers that constantly break their backs to close that educational gap. I have students whose eyes light up because they earned the privilege to use the iPad. It's a privilege ONLY because there are so few iPads but the possibilities to learn with the iPad are endless.
My Project
Everything is online these days. There's an app for everything from ordering your Starbucks online to booking a hotel room at a discount. Even our curriculum calls for students to have access to laptops or iPads to track their progress in Math, Reading or Writing. The problem is we don't have enough technology in our classrooms to meet the technology driven world we live in.
We don't use technology today; we live and breathe technology.
These two Chromebooks will allow my students to be exposed to more and more technology that they will undoubtedly use in the future. It will allow students in first grade to begin researching and learning about the world around them. It will allow that student who is still having trouble counting to 20 in second grade to access Math programs suitable to addressing his learning style and needs. It will help a student with attention span issues write sentences about what he learned in reading today.
More than half of students from low‑income households
