My Project

Helping students view the world from different perspectives is helping students become compassionate and respectful individuals. Today’s students are the leaders of the future. It is important to share and teach our students about the history of our country and of the world. When we leave people in the dark about certain aspects of our history, history will began to become watered down and less important. Our history is important because we need to build a better future.

With this project, it is my desire to create a working station in our library that will keep our students engaged and informed of different aspects of our country’s history.

The curved bookcase will serve as a focal point. Here is where displays will be built and appropriate books and artifacts will be on display. This bookcase will help to draw attention to the artifacts and books that will help keep our history alive. This display will be used for Hispanic Heritage Month, Women’s History Month, Black History Month, Native American History, Veterans Display, and more. The other items in this project will be used for Black History Month to help our students see a progression of history that has made a difference in the lives of many.
