Help me give my students a makerspace. We want to include games that encourage cooperation, fine motor coordination, and conversations but we just tell the kids they're going to have fun!
Kids love games and we love to see kids away from their screens. I would like to add these games to our makerspace options as a way to encourage conversations as well as creativity.
Research shows that both read-alouds and games foster social skills in kids.
I plan to use these games as way to introduce the elements of games so that they can work together to create their own games based on book they have read from the library. They can share their games with friends and add them to our game library.
