My Project

Beginning readers need diverse reading materials to keep them engaged. Scholastic "Let's Find Out" weekly newspapers are colorful and informative on a variety of non-fiction topics.

Kindergartners traditionally start the year bursting with excitement and eager to learn.

They are curious and even at this tender age, they are innovative thinkers. We usually have a very active classroom full of eager readers and enthusiastic minds.

I expect to have a diverse mix of students in my class, with many countries, languages, and ethnicities represented. Part of what makes our school so special is the diversity represented in our classrooms. Our students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, family situations, and prior experiences. I relish being able to provide many stimulating experiences for my students.

Help me give my new students reading materials that will develop their reading skills. Incorporating science and social studies topics that will be of interest to them and presented in a grown-up format, will keep students engaged. "Let's Find Out" is an attractive magazine that includes a digital as well as a hard copy edition. If we are in school, they will be able to read it in class and bring it home. If they are learning remotely, the digital version can be used to encourage reading and hold their interest.
