This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These board games will help my students with math, reading and social skills. Math because of the adding, counting, and matching the games require. Reading because of the directions and tasks that are required to accomplish while playing the games!!
But the Social Skills they will be using and developing because of these games, is priceless!!!
My kiddos struggle daily with Social Skills because of their disabilities, but these skills can be improved upon just by learning to play games!!
To ensure this the students will be talking to their classmates, helping each other move their pieces, taking turns, helping count and sharing the game!!
They will also learn that you do not always win, but you need to congratulate the one who does. You need to have good sportsmanship, which is a very valuable lesson for their success in the future. The bean bags are just a comfy way to play and relax while communicating with friends!! All of these things will help my kiddos become successful in their educational career but mainly, this project will ensure them to be successful citizens once they leave me and/or graduate!!!
