My students need an iPod Touch and an iPod docking station so that we can sing along with our favorite kindergarten songs during our morning carpet time.
We love to sing in kindergarten...so much that many of our CD's are getting scratched from being used so frequently. Our goal is to preserve our kindergarten music on an iPod Touch so that we can play our favorite songs in class and for our parent performances.
I teach kindergarten with a group of fun and energetic students.
My students are learning how to read and write sentences, how to add and subtract, as well as how to share and be a good friend. This is a lot of information for 4 and 5 year olds, especially for those who never attended pre-school. I always try to find fun and motivating ways to teach all of these important skills to my students. Research continues to show that music is a wonderful tool to help engage students and promote learning in the classroom.
Singing songs in class helps to motivate my students as they learn basic kindergarten skills. We have songs to help us learn the alphabet, the days of the week, the months of the year and the colors of the rainbow. My students are often heard singing these songs on the playground and at home. Each year, we put on a singing performance for our parents to showcase what we have learned in school.
Since CD's often get scratched or lost, having all of our kindergarten music on an iPod Touch with a docking station will help preserve our music so that students can learn through songs all year long!
