This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are sweet, driven, smart 9, 10, and 11-year olds from the South Bronx. They come to school excited to grow and learn every day. No matter what is going on in their personal lives, they come to our classroom happy and full of love for each other.
My kids learn best when they have the opportunity to work together to create plans, ask questions, and solve problems about the world around them.
They are on their way to becoming the future leaders of our country and I'm honored to be a small part of their journey.
My Project
These supplies are necessary in order for my students to be able to share their ideas about math. They use the white boards to draw diagrams, try out mathematical theories, and explain all their thinking. In the caddies, they store their tools such as math blocks, colored pencils, dry erase markers, and regular pencils. In the bins, they put their completed work to be reviewed with peers and by their teacher. My students love having places to store their tools when they're done as well as multiple different ways to show their thinking and share their ideas with others. These supplies will support them in living their best math lives.
