This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The time is here! Math madness time! My class will love hands-on math activities during free exploration time!
We are a kindergarten class full of spunk!
My high poverty students are from South Carolina, and they are loving learning during this new school year! Exploration is the way they learn best, and I provide as many hands-on experiences for them as possible!
My Project
Our class will use any math puzzles and games we can get our hands on! These activities will give my students the opportunity to explore numbers, counting, and addition on their own in our classroom. Students will practice counting with objects and number cards, learn numbers & addition by working puzzles, and explore the concept of ten with new magnetic tens frames. Clear squishy glitter numbers will be an awesome addition to the glowing light table we already have, and did you know students can write numbers with dry erase markers on a mirror??
This project is important because my students are important!
Pencils and paper aren't enough to teach them how numbers are a part of everyday life. Children need to learn through play and life experiences! Soon my students will be PLAYING with numbers! Wow!
