Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a low socioeconomic background and have limited resources to use. At the same time, my class is full of eager learners who enjoy experiencing new opportunities and using new technology in order to learn. This is very out of the ordinary. Never did I think that when my students and I said goodbye in March it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom or the last day for me to see them face to face in person.
My students and I have taken on the challenge of distance learning!
While it is hard, we are making the best of it and doing the best we can. We are actively engaging in different online platforms and learning many new things. My students and I participate everyday in Google Meets meetings to go over new material and to check In. I would like new books to engage my students and help them think critically about different things. My students also need materials to show and prove their thinking. I would like to make care packages for all of my students so they have the materials they need to do their work.
My Project
Please help me give my students learning materials for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine. We are located in a highly impacted area.
My students need paper, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, and other learning materials to help them express themselves.
I would like to have notebooks and coloring materials for my students. I would like them to be able to write and draw and color. They have been working so hard on the computer.
I would like to make a care package to send to all of my students homes. They LOVE getting surprise packages as I have been mailing them things since we started remote learning. I would love to send them notebooks and writing utensils so that they can be creative and express themselves, as well as have some fun.
Please help me help my students have the best distance learning experience!
