Help me give my students a cooler classroom experience with an ice maker for water breaks and hotter days!

My Students
Spring has officially reached our school district. Students are enjoying being able to go outside for recess, taking nature walks within the school community, and getting a bit of fresh air by having the windows open. While the weather on the outside is warming up, it just so happens that the weather on the inside is warming up as well.
As the warmer days continue, the students in my classroom are suffering in terms of heat.
They are currently experiencing frequent moments of humidity and could really use a cooldown.
We are located in Washington, D.C. and are housed in an older school building which has undergone few renovations. What hasn't been renovated is the older heating system that we have. For the past month, it is still producing heat despite numerous efforts of shutting it off. So, when it's hot outside, it's extra warm in our classroom!
On the days when it is really warm, students become sluggish or unmotivated to learn. We're almost at the finish line and could really use your help with preventing students from falling asleep!
My Project
A compact, portable ice maker will solve several problems in the classroom. As we patiently wait for a new cooling system, we are thinking that an ice maker will do the trick. With a building that has been around for quite some time, sometimes the heater decides to work on days where it is not needed. Additionally, we are also very limited to the number of windows that can be opened in the classroom because of student safety concerns.
The ice maker will be the final installment to our collective hydration plan.
Students are already equipped with their own water bottles for the filtered water fountain in the school. However, on the frequent days that the filtered water fountain is not working, we can have ice to go along with our water gallon jugs in the classroom. As you can see, there are many moving parts to establishing hydration in the classroom.
There are many benefits to having an ice maker of this size in the classroom. Several times throughout the year, we have made smoothies and have had juice boxes for parties in the classroom. While room temperature beverages are not necessarily a problem, I think that my students would enjoy them more if their beverages are cooler. The ice maker could also double as support for students in need of an ice pack or to keep food items cool prior to preparing them for class celebrations.
We're hoping that you see the benefits of having a portable ice maker in the classroom. It's truly a resource that will help us get through the remainder of the year in a cool way!
