I am a public school teacher located on a military base. My students are predominantly military dependents, with parents who are faced with multiple deployments. We have a transient population since families are constantly relocating to different duty stations.
Our class consists of 20 enthusiastic fourth grade students who love to learn!
We love reading, math centers, art, and using the computers. Our classroom is an inclusive classroom, with general education and special education students learning together. With such a diverse population of students, with differing needs, hands-on learning and technology tools would greatly assist students with their learning in all subject areas.
My Project
These Snap Circuits sets will be used to enhance my students' experiences working with electricity and circuits. They will be able to either follow the various project instructions or create their own circuitry and learn first hand how circuits work.
My students need these snap circuit kits so that they can build, manipulate, invent, create and develop a much deeper understanding of circuity, electricity and engineering.
With these kits, the students will enjoy building the many different working models of a photo sensor, a flashing light, and an adjustable-volume siren, without even realizing that they are learning. Funding of this project will ensure that all of my students will have an opportunity to create and explore.
