This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from very diverse backgrounds, but all are eager, creative, open-minded, dedicated, and hardworking dancers who always try their best and are excited to learn new things. I have the privilege of teaching dance to every single student in our school once a week! My students come to class excited and eager to learn new dance styles and skills. I also am the choreographer and adviser for our EAS Dance Company.

Our EAS Dance Company is a special group of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students who love dancing and want to perform!

For many of my students, my class is their first and only exposure to dance! They love to dance and often excitedly show me dances and movements they have learned and created. They are open-minded about and excited for this new experience, and I am inspired to work with them each day. So many students have expressed desires to dance more and have joined our Dance Company who perform at school and at various district wide events as well.

My students are wonderful and open minded dancers who always try their best and are excited to learn new things. We are looking for supplies for our costumes for our concert this year. My students will be performing a glow/light up dance and we are looking for light up gloves, shoelaces, bracelets and necklaces to enhance our dance and make our wonderful and talented dancers glow on stage! Because of COVID my students have not had the opportunity to perform for three years, so this will be a new experience for them and we are hoping to get some glowing/light up costume pieces to help them feel extra proud and excited about performing in front of their peers and families!
