Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A reading interventionists primarily responsibility is to teach students the skills required to read independently. The students range from kindergarten to 6th grade. This requires the reading interventionists to meet with classroom teachers to discuss the areas of improvement for each child.

In order to reach each child assigned to a small group with a reading interventionist, specific strategies are used and tailored to the needs of each student: those strategies are the details of our job!

They include having magnetic ready-made letters to build words and recognize vowel sounds while using their mini-white magnetic white boards; trays for each student to organize his/her work; bins for activities that are readily accessible, write-on worksheets that can be used at every level and an organizer to turn in all their work! Each item plays a significant role in a structured environment that are all aligned with scientifically based approaches to help develop reading skills in students.

The students at my school come from a low-income community. Their goal is to be able to learn and apply their learning to help their families and themselves as they build a solid foundation of their education. Please consider donating so that every child has a chance to not only learn but to thrive in an individualized environment that allows them to flourish!
