Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students today are still recovering from the pandemic. Their lives took a turn in 2020 with online learning, and education became isolated, lonely, and 2-dimensional. All learning took place on a computer screen. Tactile learning simply couldn't exist in the schools and it was difficult to make the learning fun. Fast forward to 2022, and our students are craving real-life interactions. Many of them think that a game has to be online to be fun. Help me give my students fun games like Connect Four, chess, checkers and Jenga to help students dive in to creativity, fun and conversation. There are mental health benefits as well as academic benefits when students engage in fun and educational games. It's just one more way that teachers can make school and safe, fun and educational place.
