This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like for my students to have the opportunity to explore different STEAM projects with balloons and helium. One project that I have in mind is for them to build their own cars that will be powered with air from the balloons. We need the helium to experiment with the difference in travel speed in time and distance when the car is powered by a balloon using helium vs a balloon using air from a pump and room air. We need the helium, balloons, and rods for this purpose. I would also like for my students to explore science building a protective nest for eggs. They will also use balloons and helium for this project. They will take notes to see if an object traveling down will be faster with balloons powered with helium than with human air and an air pump.
