My Project
This project will benefit students who attend a public school in North Carolina. It is a Title I school who have qualified for 100% free breakfast & lunch this school year and a fabulous diverse student body.
This xylophone purchased will be used by approximately 570 students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade!
With this instrument, my students will be tune-ful by performing simple repeated melodic patterns to enhance my students' singing. Students will compose music with the pentatonic scale and this instrument will enhance their performance of their compositions as individuals and as an ensemble. This melodic percussion instrument will give my students an opportunity to perform bass pitches to enhance their understanding of the steady beat while they perform melodic drones and ostinati to accompany their singing, creating, organized movement, & ensemble performances.
