It's All About Curious George Traveling Book Bags in Kindergarten.

Help me give my students Curious George books and book bags. These book bags will travel home with the children. Each bag will have a book and an activity to complete with their family.

My Project

As the Library Media Specialist at my school, I have the opportunity to work closely with all grade levels. I co-teach with each of my Kindergarten and First-grade teachers. During the week I am with my kindergarten students I want to have book bags for the children to take home. Each bag will contain a book and a fun activity to complete with their family. I will have all the materials they need in their book bag. They can return it the next day and get a new book bag with a different activity. I want to kick off the Kindergarten book bag with the classic series Curious Geroge. I can't wait to share all the fun adventures Curious George goes on with my students. Curious George is a classic that keeps on entertaining generations and the children can identify with George getting into mischief.

I have started a Reading 20 mins a Day Initiative with the students.

These book bags will provide new reading material for the children. Each month I sponsor different reading challenges and this month's challenge is a calendar filled with different reading activities. They must complete the calendar by the end of the month and bring it back to the library to be put into a drawing for prizes.
