Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Ashley Elementary is a wonderful school, full of great learners. we enjoy providing our students with hands on experience.
One of the major concepts in our science standards is observing living organisms. The students looking at what an organism needs to thrive is a critical teaching tool. I would like to provide many observation opportunities for my students. I am not just asking for classroom pets, but I am asking for different organisms that we can watch and care for in their nature habitats. I am asking for fish that they can observe and care for. As part of this proposal I am asking for a worms farm so that my students see the benefit of worms to our environment. We will do a classroom project to see how Worms Eat Our Garbage.
All these organisms will improve our science program. My plan for this project is to use technology as an important component. We will keep an electronic journal of our observations. We will also create a PowerPoint presentation about our experience. Please help us with this project.
