My Students
My students have a love of learning, and learn best from hands-on experiences. This could be the start of better understanding for them.
I have 19 amazing kids in a Title one school.
I have found that they learn best by hand-on based curriculum. They struggle with telling time, elapsed time, and fractions, including percentages. I believe that if I can provide them with their best learning style, they will be successful. I love the "I understand" moment.
My Project
These resources will be used on a bi-weekly or more basis. They will be able to understand telling time on an analog clock, as well as understand elapsed time. With the percentages, they will be able to understand the correlation between percentages and fractions. It will also provide a visual and tactical way for them to learn.
My student will gain so much from being able to use these resources.
It will tie into real world situations for them, and give them a love of learning. If I can provide their best learning style, it will be a great advantage. My students need math manipulative's to better understand time and percentage concepts. They need hands-on experience with learning.
