My Project
Teaching writing to high school students is a powerful experience and it provides them with an invaluable tool that they will use for the rest of their lives. In order to create an inviting learning environment where my students feel confident and comfortable to explore their ideas, I would like to provide them with supplies such as markers, folders, sticky notes, and other resources that they can have readily available to them as they delve into the writing process. To engage them, I would also like to enhance my writing mentor library as well.
As high school students who have gone through a complicated last two years, with Covid, providing support for their social and emotional health is also important.
I would like to use the mindfulness cards as both writing inspiration but also a place for students to embolden their own confidence in their academic world as anxiety and stress can often overpower. By having these resources on hand - students can focus on learning and have that feeling of comfort and support and not worry about supplies.
