My students enjoy a small snack after nap. It provides a nice way to wake up. They are always very hungry especially if lunch wasn’t very filling. I have always provided most of our daily snacks because I don’t want to ask the parents for help since they are from lower income households and qualify to have their child in a Head Start unit. It would be very helpful to start the year with a full cupboard of tasty snacks!
A child whose tummy is full is much more likely to learn and retain information.
