My Students
I try to bring the love of reading to my students, so when I find a novel they like I make sure we read it. The novels Things Not Seen and The Giver are well liked books in my class. Once we have read these novels my students tell me how much they enjoyed reading. Many times they will seek other novels by the same authors.
"Because of reading Things Not Seen, I actually like to read now", is just one of the many comments I have gotten from my students.
It is so empowering as a teacher to bring out the love of literature in the classroom.
My Project
My student will use these books to replace the ones that they are currently using. We reading Things Not Seen and The Giver in my classes this year and these books are literally falling apart in my students' hands. I want my students to have new books to continue their love of reading.
The donations to this project would significantly help my students have good quality books in their hands.
With these new books my students can continue to enjoy reading these wonderful pieces of literature. Furthermore, having more books will allow my students to take them home when they need more time to work with the novels.
